Sorcery
<<the use of evil spiritual power>>
This term encompasses a range of evil or deceptive activities that are forbidden in the Bible such as witchcraft, black magic, spells, charms, horoscopes, and occult practices. It includes consulting with those who practice such things, as they are expressing rebellion against God and His authority – He said, “You are not to have any gods but Me” (Ex 20:3; Lev 19:31, 20:6; Deut 18:9-13; Isa 47:13). Some feats by sorcerers are just trickery or illusion but many are done with satanic power, enabling extraordinary wonders to be evidenced (Act 8:9-11, 13:8-10).
Christians are not to use the devil’s tools or toys
music that are within the home. This material needs to be destroyed and the home sanctified for the Lord. The subtle yet immense power of the spirit realm is not fully comprehended by many so do not allow the Devil a foothold into your life or home by entertaining what is acceptable in the eyes of the world yet which is opposed to the nature and purposes of God.
Those who practice all forms of witchcraft will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Gal 5:19-21; Rev 21:8, 22:15). Various New Age meditations, mind control and relaxation techniques involve sorcery, as do a number of films and even children’s games. Magic potions and drugs have long been associated with sorcery and witchcraft, with many experimenting with and becoming addicted to hallucinogenic drugs.
For those who have dabbled in any of these ungodly practices to be free of their power, spiritual deliverance may be necessary (Lk 9:1; Mk 16:17)
