The basic, biological sex drive that is heightened after puberty. This is expressed through erotic feelings of love or lust and normally manifest or released in intercourse. God gave sexuality to His human creations as a gift with two functions: to perpetuate the human race and to create a pleasurable and intimately physical, emotional, and spiritual bond between husband and wife (Gen 2:24). However, whatever God creates, Satan perverts. God created humanity as two (and only two) genders: "male and female He created them" (Gen 1:27). Fallen humanity has distorted and destroyed the sacred gift of sexuality with these feelings of being attracted to others possibly developing into unhealthy soul-ties and many gender identity issues. The transgender concept is being embraced by society and brings people increasingly under bondage to Satan. The teaching of the Bible is that sexuality is only to be expressed between a married couple (of opposite genders), and without thinking of or visualizing any sexual relationship with anyone else (Mt 5:28; 1 Cor 7:2,5). Expressing inappropriate sexuality has ruined many lives, so ‘be the person the person you are looking for is looking for’!

How do we handle the intense pressures of God-given hormones and desires of our natural body? The Bible instructs us to put to death the wrong, worldly emphasis on sex and bring our urges and thoughts under command, making them obedient to Christ (Prov 4:23; 2 Cor 10:5). is controlled by our spirit under the power of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:16; Col 3:5,6). Practical steps include keeping a close watch on what we look at and think about besides being involved in wholesome outlets for our time and energy, having pure intermingling of both sexes in group settings and being accountable to others. Men are easily sexually aroused visually, their thoughts quickly running wild with passion overriding sound thinking, and easily getting out of control like a fire. Scripture says they are to act towards females as they would want their sister treated, while the women should not dress or act in seductive ways (1 Tim 2:8-10, 5:1,2).

Carefully guard your sexuality against all abuse, as it’s destructive power affects the spiritual effectiveness of those immediately involved and family sacredness is violated with society scarred and the nation’s moral strength weakened. The increasingly permissive laws of society, coupled with corroding personal standards has resulted in people condoning many of the practices forbidden by God. Human laws may change but God’s don’t, and it is His rules we will be judged by. His laws (boundaries) are designed to protect, and within the framework of their security, true love and freedom is found.
