Self-destruction
<<destroying oneself>>
Life is God’s valuable gift to us, what we do with it is our gift to Him. Jesus came so we might experience abundant life whereas the devil is out to destroy us (Jn 10:10). We should live life according to God’s estimation of us and in accordance with moral and spiritual laws, dealing with any issues that are not life enhancing.
People often allow themselves to be robbed of the vitality of life – both natural and spiritual – by holding on to hatred, not being willing to forgive others, making wrong decisions, entering into unhealthy relationships, practicing harmful habits or taking destructive substances. Such attitudes and practices reveal a lack of discipline, and little appreciation of the power of the gospel or the purposes of God, through not valuing their own unique life. Such a lack of self-respect may lead to scorning or gambling with life, and can culminate in suicide.
Sometimes professional counsellors and psychiatric practitioners are necessary to give guidance, as well as breaking destructive, demonic, spiritual forces that are oppressing people’s minds. If you have trouble in these areas seek out wise, trusted people who can help you come into victory in Christ, which is part of your legal inheritance.
