The foremost American revivalist of the 19th century. Finney, who lived 1792-1875 began as a Presbyterian minister before holding mass evangelical crusades in the Second Great Awaking – the period of protestant revivals from 1790 to the late 1840’s.
Finney said, ‘A revival is nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God.’
